Abhishek Ray (Co-founder, DRDF) was invited as a presenter and juror for the Design for 21st Century Conference on Universal and Accessible Environments in 2004. DRDF screened "Katha- Stories from the Desert" at the conference in order to bring to light the grass root level efforts in the field of disability based rehabilitation in India. Abhishek was also part of the jury for the Students Design Competition for the Design of an Inclusive Community Centre. Student teams from international schools of design and architecture participated at the conference.

India Centre for Human Rights and Law organized a seminar on Housing in 2005 at the YB Chavan Center in Mumbai. The seminar was designed to act as a common forum for development authorities and activist groups lobbying for access and disability rights to meet and discuss the need for reservation in the housing policy for the disabled. The seminar was held at a time when wide scale evictions and housing rehabilitation schemes were being organized for project affected people under the MUTP (Mumbai Urban Transport Project) and MUIP (Mumbai Urban Infrastructure Project) schemes of the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority.

The Human Rights Law Network, Cochin Chapter, invited Nilesh Singit and Abhishek Ray to a conference on Disability and Access. The conference aimed at a comprehensive understanding of two diverse realms of design and disability law. The conference was hosted by HRLN Kochi and was attended by lawyers, activists and design professionals.
